I am considering trading stock options and I would like advice from people who actually Know what they are talking about. First off, I know that it is very risky and that most people lose money. I dont care about that aspect. I am already considering this as my form of gambling. I just would like to do my gambling with as much knowledge on the subject as possible so that I am a better gambler. So I hope that takes care of all of the “Dont do it, its risky and you will lose your money” responses to my questions. Okay, my questions are:
1 If I buy a call option, and it goes in the money, do I have to have the money to actually excersise the call option and buy the stock at the strike price, or can I just sell that same option to someone else and get the profit that way?

2. I have never traded options before and there is one thing that I dont quite understand when I see it, so I will give a little scenario to try to better describe my question. Suppose there is a stock that is priced at at the moment. And a call option for that stock with a strike price of which is already in the money by is costing .30. Why are there other options with strike prices of like (and the same expiration date) that only cost like .05? The call option is in the money, more than the option with the strike price, yet it only cost .75 more. So my question is, why doesnt the options price correspond direclty with it being worth more? and, why wouldnt people just by the option with the strike price since it is more in the money, but only 75 cents more expensive?
Also, if you know of a good site to trade options, with low commisions, I am open to suggestions. I am all ears to any other advice that you might have on the subject too. But I really dont need any, “Dont do it” “Its risky” replies. As I said, Im already treating this like Vegas. Im stuck in Iraq for a year, and Im gonna play around with a little bit of speculation, and see if I can get “BlackJack” a few times.

Have you checked that all other characteristics of the two options are identical? Please check that these two options differ only in terms of price, and that they expire on the same date. One of the reasons for such an anomaly in option pricing might be the difference in expiry dates.
And even if they are identical in all other aspects, such anomaly can persist. The reason is simply that the near-priced options have more liquidity. They are well-in-demand. While trading volume in deeply-in-the-money options will be very negligible. So, even if you buy that option, it will be a risk who will come forward to buy it when you want to sell it (assuming that the stock price doesn’t change from its current level).
