Question by Al D: Why can’t I get into ” holdem poker” after waiting for “applet” to load?
I do get to the page where I’m able to select a lounge to enter and after making a selection, all I get is a white screen and a message telling me to wait 3 mins. for applet or click another button if that faILS TO WORK.

This question isn’t important, I know,but I’m wondering why and who cares about watching the so called ” celebrities” playing Poker? They have millions of dollars I’d say and they probably pay for the tv time to be seen. Television sure has changed. Most game shows are so stupid or sexually promoted and doesn’t even interest most people. Well, it’s true–Money Talks—Right?

Variants Of Omaha Poker

The pot is split evenly between the High hand and low hand. In certain cases when there is no low winner the high hand takes all.

- Blind and/or ante limits
- Time left until the blinds raise (in tournaments)
- Your feeling of the game
- Your ‘read’ at any given time

I could go on and on. Frankly, poker is a lot more intricate then just mere card odds. If you could just play the odds and that was that there wouldn’t be any real essence to the game. Lets take an extreme example: the bluff. A bluff has got to be one of the most widely known, lucrative poker moves around. A bluff is essentially playing completely shot cards. An ABC Texas Holdem Poker Strategy would decree you fold the cards because they are ‘bad’ but you could be missing out on a great opportunity to steal some money.

I understand the that ABC Texas Holdem does have its place. Its a great way for new players to learn which cards are better then others. Most bad beat stories come down to how many outs the bad beater has ,so generally if they only had 1 out those are the worst beats ,but you said STORY ,so this is one I put on myself-I was in Biloxi at the Grand in 1995 in a 4/8 game and the jackpot was like ,000 ,i am in 9th pos just before the button and i look down at AQs so i make it 8 and the button an old guy makes it 12 ,a few people stay in and it gets back to me and i call and say out loud “ace ,king,queen please dealer” and GUESS what flops ,A,K.Q ! i am on fire ,ithink and everyone looks at me like i am magic or something ,so the big blind who stayed in for 3 bets ,BETS OUT ,then the next guy raises the next guy folds ,again i JUST CALL and the old guy on the button calls so now i start hollering for an ACE on the turn (for the rest of the story to be funny you need to understand jackpot rules and actually KNOW the rules of the game you happen to be in ) BINGO ! you guessed it here comes mister ACE on the turn and I am about to POOP my pants cause I already put the old guy on the button on ACE KING and I was already sprnding my 000 bucks ,now i am calling the floor and yelling across the room for my friends.well the big blind Knows he is beat at least by me and shows J-10 to his neighbor who still has cards and folds his straight face up ,so i admonish his play and the next guy folds KQ again face up ,so now I start yelling at them if they F$%^ UP this jack-pot I will KILL them and I meant every word ,so the action gets to me and i bet and sure enough the old guy rasies ,i rerasies and before he caps he kind of whispers ,”son you can’t win” and tries to show me his cards so being the know-it all bad sport i am i said “look old man i know you got ace king i amjust trying to build you a pot cause I am getting the big end” he just looks at me and i am going nuts cause i just know i am about to get 45 large!(the casino in baton rouge had a bad beat also but it was aces full beaten ,period and it never got very big and here i was on the big end of ,000.00 ,i thought) well the river is a blank and its heds up now so i bet ,he rasies etc til its capped the dealer asks for a show down and upon reflection i should have known something was wrong when everyone was calling me A-hole etc and NOT happy like most people about to recieve free money-lol) so i turn over my aces full of queens and he shows his aces full of kings and i jump up ALL ALONE and scream JACKPOT! as loud as i could-the dealer looks at me like i am retarded and says its a bad beat but it ain’t no jack pot as he mucks the hand ! I was crushed the hand cost me due to my antics and i was so embarassed i had to leave!
