Do The Odds In Sports Betting Make Them A Losing Proposition In The Long Term Like Betting Colors In Roulette?

I don’t think so.
Sports betting involves some skill, and it is possible for a bettor to beat the odds. I have done it for years at NFL and NCAA Football, and never had a losing season. You can see proof here: http://www.football-free-picks.com just check the results.
So the bookie percentage can be beaten, meaning that it has a much higher return probability than roulette, for which there is no surefire long term system for winning.

The house edge in sports betting is LESS than the house edge in roulette.
Roulette, with a zero and double zero wheel, has a house edge of 5.26%. (1 – 36/38)
Sports betting, where you bet 11 to win 10, has a house edge of just 4.55% (1 – 21/22)
Sports betting then, give you a better deal. Also, their is a skill in sports betting. There is NO skill at all in roulette.

Well, poinspreads are calculated in hopes of giving the house equal action on both sides. If you are just picking random games, then you can probably expect to win 50% of the time if you bet with the same frequency and dollar amount. The problem is you’ll be losing money on the vig, and that’s where sports books make their money!
But if you know what you are doing, what to look for, what to wait for, and can manage your money properly, you can come away with a profit in the long run.

yes, but your analogy is inaccurate. the the odds on sports bets is akin to the zeroes on the roulette wheel.
