What Do You Think You Can Do To Stop Bush From Signing The Anti Online Gambling Bill?
Come on people – The President is expected to sign this Bill into effect on October 13, 2006.
Instead of making online gambling illegal – The USA should be regulating it and making revenue from it – providing jobs for US Citizens.
Give me some ideas on what to do.
I’ve already been to http://www.casinomeister.com and every where else I can think of.
I need some more ideas – I’ve written my state reps, I’ve written the White House – but what else can I do?
I don’t want the US to take control over the Internet – nor do I think it is right for the Govt. to decide what is MORALLY RIGHT or WRONG – based on religious belief.
I mean – it’s ok for Las Vegas, Bingo Halls, Race Tracks, etc. So why are they telling me what I can or cannot do in my own home?
ANY IDEAS or thoughts?

There’s not anything you can do to stop him from signing the bill. He is a self-righteous captive to the religious right and will do their bidding.
That said, the law does not technically expand the wire act to make casinos and poker illegal. It simply puts into action a process to cut off their money. Webwallets may evolve to get around these restrictions, but in the meantime there are many sites that are staying open to players so long as their specific state of residence does not have a state law on the books to outlaw internet gambling.
This bill is all about banking, not the legality of the gambling itself.
If you really want to do something about the bill, your best bet is to vote against Republicans this year. They orchestrated this whole fiasco and made sure that the banking restrictions were attached to the Safe Ports bill.
I have voted Republican most of my life but this is not the party of Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and the first George Bush presidency. They have brought the government into our personal lives and how we spend our money. President Bush said he was against nation-building when he ran for president and he is the biggest nation builder ever! (or shall I say nation destructor!) He’s even a bigger spender than the Democrats, but he doesn’t pay for any of his spending either! He just sticks debt on the backs of our children! I don’t think I will every vote for their party again. They really blew it and I hope their party gets blasted out of power in this year’s congressional elections.

You can’t stop him from signing it. It will happen early next week. But the fact is that it really changes nothing. Nothing new is illegal that was not already illegal. If you don’t believe that, go ask the UK online gambling company execs now sitting in U.S. jails (before this bill will ever take effect). It does make enforcement a little easier by putting the imputus on the banks and ISPs, but nothing much new is illegal.

Give up your US citizenship and go live FREE in countries that don’t brag so much about freedom but where citizens can actually enjoy it everyday. The US government is pissing on our constitution and is increasingly giving us a PROXY to freedom that stops where big money like the Vegas gambling business is harmed by foreign online gambling sites. It’s all about CA$H… “Land of the Free” my a-s-s!
