Tom Hicks, who could have used this money to sign a pitching staff for the Texas Rangers, has instead purchased an English soccer team. This is the straw that has broken the camel’s back. It’s clear that Hicks could care less about the Rangers winning. Therefore, I need a new team to follow. Preferably one with an owner who has shown commitment to winning, but who doesn’t have so much money that rooting for them “is like rooting for the house in Blackjack.” This rules out the Yankees and Red Sox, so please don’t suggest them. This is a serious question, and I would like answers to be backed up with evidence. If I choose your answer as the best, your team will have a new loyal supporter for the upcoming baseball season.

Update:
Thanks to all who took this seriously and put in some time. I was also impressed by the guy who argued for the Mets, but since the Mets are such a high profile team, I’d feel too much like I was jumping on a bandwagon by rooting for them.
