Question by anonymous: My Dell Vostro 1500 won’t play a burned dvd. It will play regular ones.?
I received this dvd copy from a third party that records news segments. I was on the news for my book “Card Counting: The Real Truth in Blackjack.” However, when I rec’d the dvd of the new segment, it doesn’t play on my laptop. It works on my work computer and dvd player at home. However, it won’t play on my laptop. I would like to burn copies, so I can send it to my friends, relatives and other news stations. Please, help!
Thanks,
Oliver
P.S. I have tried VLC, WinDVD, DivX, Real Player, Windows Media and K-Lite Codes, but nothing works. I talked to Dell Tec support for an hour and still nothing. They even said the dvd was a bad copy. However, it plays everywhere, except on my laptop. Please, help. Thanks

Try updating the firmware for the DVD ROM.
Also try reinstalling the Drivers.
If nothing works – The DVD ROM is gone bad.
The answer you received from Dell is a common one, I pity the tech support for having brainless people.
